Vivian Lee became an Associate Partner in 2014. Prior to joining Richard Meier & Partners, she lived and worked in both Europe and Asia, and brings to the Firm her diverse background and international experience. Her current portfolio includes the Oaks Frontline Apartments & Villas in the Czech Republic, the Taichung Condominium Tower, Residential Villas in Taipei, Taiwan, and the SoMA Master Plan and Teachers Village Charter Schools and Workforce Housing in Newark, New Jersey. Her contribution to the firm’s creative portfolio also include the recently completed Seamarq Hotel in Gangneung, South Korea, the OCT Clubhouse in Shenzhen, China, and the Italcementi i.lab in Bergamo, Italy. Many of her projects have recently been published in various domestic and international magazines: Architectural Record, Architect, Detail, Casabella and Abitare.
Vivian Lee was responsible for all phases of design and construction of the OCT Shenzhen Clubhouse, an exclusive private facility that serves as the center of the larger OCT Bay development. The OCT Shenzhen Clubhouse is Richard Meier & Partner’s first completed building in China, and it reflects a very unique design approach offering a distinctive geometry and massing while employing the firm’s architectural guiding principles of natural light, spatial proportions and geometry.
Ms. Lee’s wide-ranging areas of practice prior to joining Richard Meier & Partners cover the sectors of Education, Corporate, Retail, Airport, Cultural and Interiors. Ms. Lee received her Bachelor in Architecture from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and a Summa Cum Laude Master in Architecture from Syracuse University in Florence, Italy. She is a registered architect in New York State, a member of the AIA, and actively participates in the Women in Architecture Committee mentoring young aspiring architects and promoting women in leadership and design roles in the practice.
Ms. Lee is a LEED Accredited Professional, with extensive experience in completing one of the first LEED Platinum Certified buildings in Italy, and is currently working on achieving the LEED Neighborhood Development (ND) Certification for the Teachers Village project in Newark.
