How does my team receive the the 3D models that are available for the competition?
Upon registering for the competition teams will receive confirmation emails that include downloadable model links.
Where do I get my team number?
Your team’s identification number is the order number that appears on the top right of the confirmation email upon registration. The confirmation is only sent to the email provided during the payment.

Should my team design on the exterior of the structural shell or the interior?
The focus of the design competition is designing within the structural shell. Participants may design elements outside the shell to the extent that it better represents their design intentions within the shell. Designs may design the apertures that puncture the shell, the entry points through the shell, and elements that interact with the shell. Jury considerations will focus on the elements within in priority over exterior elements.
Can my design team select multiple structural shells to proceed with?
Only a single submission (one structural shell) may be submitted per registration. Teams that wish to explore multiple shells are required to complete a registration for each submission that they wish to submit a design proposal for.
What type pf graphic representations should be included on submission materials?
Participants may include renderings, building sections, floor plans, and any graphic representation that does not include text. Text should only be included in the project text summary.
Are the structural shells associated with the competition proven to be hurricane resilient?
The shells associated with the SHELTER competition are three of the nearly infinite configurations that can be constructed using the prefabricated system created by Deltec Homes. Circular designs assure that hurricane strength winds don’t build up enough pressure on any side of a home to cause catastrophic structural failures. Combined with a systematic approach to hurricane resistance including a radial support system and superior materials, Deltec's homes can withstand the strongest hurricanes. Deltec Homes are located all around the world and have been being built for over 50 years.
