“Throughout ‘inside the third Reich’ Hitler is often comparing the Third Reich to previously dominants empires-particularly Rome- as he attempts to recapture its essence of power, colonisation and supremacy. The fundamental way of which the Nazi party was able to do this was to adopt similar architectural styles. This way they were able to portray an image of great power and solidity as the ancient civilisation had done.”
“This is a carefully constructed regime which has, at its heart, an unprecedented understanding of how architecture and urbanism can influence and control people. Coming second only to the military on the list of party priorities, the design of the built environment has had an incalculable effect on reinforcing the ideologies of the North Korean regime and conveying these to the people.”
“The powerful build because that is what the powerful do. On the most basic level, building creates jobs that are useful to keep a restless workforce quiet. But it also reflects well on the capability, decisiveness and the determination of the powerful. Above all, architecture is the means to tell a story about those who build it.”

“All art is propaganda. It is universally and inescapably propaganda; sometimes unconsciously, but often deliberately, propaganda.”
