Ania Molenda is an independent Rotterdam-based researcher and curator. She is a founder and editor- in-chief of Amateur Cities, part of the managing editorial team of The Site Magazine and a member the advisory board of Rotterdam’s Culture Council 2017-2020. In her work Ania focuses on the socio- cultural dimension of spatial practices and the potential of innovation in contemporary urban environments that brings different disciplines together.
Before starting an independent career she has worked as a researcher and design teacher at TU Delft Faculty of Architecture (The Why Factory) as well as an architect at MVRDV, Powerhouse Company and SVESMI.
During the 14 th Venice Architecture Biennale together with Alison Killing she curated an exhibition titled ‘Death in Venice, The Shape of Death in Modernity’ about death and modern architecture, which explored the influence of modernity on the way we perceive death and how we create spaces for death and dying.
